Hole No. 6

Jim and Patty Cownie

Par 4

  • Championship: 473 yds
  • Back: 436 yds
  • Middle: 415 yds
  • Forward: 364 yds

One of the longer par fours, this slight dogleg right is defined by a series of deep bunkers on the right and two large bunkers guarding the front portion of the green. As with many of the holes, a run-up option is presented for entry into the green.

Local Knowledge

A drive favoring the left side of the fairway will avoid the fairway bunkers on the right, and provide the best angle to the green.  An approach shot aimed at the middle of the green, regardless of the hole location, will help in avoiding the large bunkers that guard the left and right side of this green.

Hole Facts

  • This will be the 18th hole for the Senior Open and will be played from the championship tee at 473 yards, presenting a nice challenge to any player attempting to hold on to a 1 shot lead, come Sunday.
