Public golf facilities with caddie programs are a rarity, which is why we feel the below information is another way to differentiate the Warren Golf Course from other public facilities! The intent of this letter is to officially introduce The Warren Golf Course Caddie Program and give you a little insight as to how the program is run. We have developed this program in relationship with the University currently housing 2 Evans Scholars and believe that it can accomplish two goals here at our facility. One, we feel it can enhance the overall experience the golfer has while playing our golf course by speeding up play and contributing to a better conditioned golf course. Two, we view this as a way to give back to the youth of the community by providing them a safe work environment, while introducing them to positive role models.
All of the caddies in our program have been put through a training program that not only tests their knowledge of the game of golf, but also the nuances of caddying. Since, this is the inaugural year of our program we will not be using a ranking system to rank the caddies. All loops will have base rate of $35, with a suggested tip rate of $10-$15 per loop. A forecaddie will also be an option for any group wishing to ride in golf carts, but retain the benefits (i.e. raking bunkers, getting yardages, and locating golf balls) of a caddie. The base fee for this will be $40 per group, with a suggested tip rate of $10-$15 per bag. The base fee will be paid in the pro shop, while checking in for your round and the tip portion is to be handled directly with the caddie post round.
We encourage you to utilize this great service by requesting a caddie when making your tee time and thank you in advance for your support of the WGC Caddie Program. If you have questions or special requests, please contact Greg Helmkamp at 574-631-9383 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
