NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- The NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Committee has selected the University of Notre Dame to serve as host of the 2015 South Bend, Indiana Regional at the Warren Golf Course on campus May 7-9, 2015.
Notre Dame is the fourth and final regional host joining the previously selected St. George, Utah site at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club hosted by Brigham Young University; the San Antonio, Texas site at Briggs Ranch Golf Club hosted by the University of Texas at San Antonio and the Raleigh, North Carolina site at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course hosted by North Carolina State University.
“We are so pleased to have been selected as one of four regional sites for 2015,” says Irish head coach Susan Holt. “Our support staff here at Notre Dame is well-equipped to host a first class NCAA event. It is truly an honor to host many of the top women's golf programs in the country at the Warren Golf Course. We feel we have one of the best collegiate on-campus golf courses in the country, and to be able to show case it in this way is a huge thrill for us. “
The Warren Golf Course has previously hosted the 2011 Division I Women’s Golf Central Regional Championships, two NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Regional Championships, two U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship qualifiers, two Western Mid-Amateur Championship qualifiers, five BIG EAST Conference Championships and the 2010 U.S. Women’s Public Links Championship.
“The Warren Golf Course is a tremendous facility that will be a great challenge for our student-athletes,” says Theresa Becker, chair of the Division I Women’s Golf Committee and Associate Athletics Director at the University of Kansas. “Notre Dame has a great history of hosting top-quality events so we know this will be a wonderful experience for everyone involved.”
