AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 26 University of Notre Dame women's golf team finished the third and final day of the 2013 NCAA East Regional Championship at the Auburn University Club with a 44 -over-par 908 (292-304-312) tying for 15^th place with No. 44 Central Florida.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The No. 26 University of Notre Dame women's golf program will make its sixth-straight appearance (eighth overall) as a team in the NCAA Regional, May 9-11, as the Irish compete as the No. 9 seed in the East region at the par-72 Auburn University Club (6,259 yards). Notre Dame was one of 72 teams selected into the three-region field, securing its automatic bid after clinching the program's fifth BIG EAST title on April 23 at Reunion Resort and Golf Club (Orlando, Fla.).

ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Notre Dame men's golf team posted the best team round of the tournament, firing a final round eight-under par 280 Tuesday to finish in third place at the BIG EAST Championship on the Watson Course at Reunion Resort.

The University of Notre Dame women's golf team, winners of the 2013 BIG EAST Championship, will play in its sixth consecutive NCAA regional championship when the Irish travel to the NCAA East Regional on May 9-11 at Auburn University Club (Auburn, Ala.). The 72-team NCAA tournament field was announced on Monday evening (April 29).

Preventative maintenance is an integral part of successful golf course management. Golfers view aerification as an inconvenience that takes the greens out of play for a day or two, pulling cores or poking holes in the greens that can affect putting for many days before healing. To add insult to injury, aerification is best done in many parts of the country during mid-summer, at the height of the playing season and when most greens are in prime condition. AUGUSTA, Ga. - It seems only fitting that on St. Patrick's Day the University of Notre Dame women's golf team prevailed on the player leaderboard as sophomore Ashley Armstrong (Flossmoor, Ill.) took home medalist honors on the third and final day of the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate Tournament at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. Armstrong climbed the ranks with a 54-hole total score of a one-under-par 215 (76-69-70) to secure her second tournament title of her young collegiate career guiding the Irish to a third-place team finish.
